Mobility Technical Overview

VLink is JAIX server resident mobility engine managing all data and communications between JAIX suite of desktop applications, the JAIX database and PDA’s or in vehicle hand held devices and is responsible to maintain 24 hour up time.

The Fleet Management component allows users to :

Link PDA’s to vehicle and subcontractor ID’s [ex JAIX Accounts]
Setup PDA’s unique IMEII references
View live data streaming - incoming/outgoing
View logons
Trouble shoot
Manage hardware inventory - tracking

The VLink Data Manager controls the integrity of the data packets as assigned to a designated vehicle PDA or global messaging to a fleet and data packets returning from the vehicle.

Likewise, data from a JAIX desktop application to the vehicle is managed.

In a real time data environment, it is imperative that all messaging is acknowledged in the data sense – data signatures are stored continually until a successful transmission is received at the VLink server.

Data packets can include :

Messaging – individual or global text (ie plain text messaging)
Booking data
Consignment data – run sheet generated
POD data / signature
Pallet exchange data / signature
ID, Date, Time, Tracking & stamping
Alerts - include pickup arrived, completed etc
Booking / consignment comments
Booking acknowledgements
Delivery rejections*

* For example, VLink will generate an email to sender/receiver when driver has notified rejection of a delivery

Dependent on the data type, VLink will update the Jaix data base in real time (eg Driver comments saved on PDA against a delivery) where any user may access those comments from within FreightLink).

Update Management

VLink controls automatically, all PDA software updates (multiple versions across single fleet), alleviating the necessity for manual intervention and control.
