JAIX TO PARTICIPATE IN SUPPLY CHAIN 2020 EVENT

June 2010

Jaix Logistics Software will be an active participant in this year’s Supply Chain 2020 conference and exhibition.

Being held at the Melbourne Olympic Park’s Function Centre on July 21 and 22, the event is being targeted to present the latest updates on innovations and best practice in Australia’s supply chain.

While targeting customers and prospective customers, Jaix says that its involvement with the event will also be about meeting with other technology suppliers.

Says company director Heather Thornton, “it’s a statement of the blindingly obvious that new technologies are continually emerging. Some of these will present solid operational and profit opportunities for the logistics sector. And our task is to meet with suppliers, investigate those opportunities and determine where and how such products can be integrated into overall solutions.

“It’s all about technology presenting real practical benefits. As opposed to technology simply for its own sake.

“Events such as Supply Chain 2020 also underscore the extent to which end users are now demanding that high level of integration.

“They clearly see the benefits of such things communications, mobility, sign on glass, GPS, vehicle management and more. But they have neither the capacity or the inclination to start bringing this all together themselves.

“Which means that to remain a serious software supplier, one also needs to provide a ‘one stop shop’ that can deliver the integrated result the user demands.

Osctrot

OSCTROT - I.T. NEEDS FULLY MET BY JAIX

July 2010

Having built its original reputation on the transportation of bulk grains and fertilisers, Balaklava based Osctrot has more recently gained an enviable added reputation as a general freight company.

Headquartered some 100kms north of Adelaide, the company also has depots in the state capital itself, together with those in Melbourne and Perth.

Earlier this year the company determined that ongoing and longer term business objectives warranted the adoption of substantially new IT solutions.

High on the agenda was enhanced customer service, a goal in which the company has always prided itself. The need for improved margin reporting, business rationalisation and a much greater visibility of day-to-day operations at the press of a button, was also a high priority.

In that context, Osctrot chose to adopt the Jaix family of software solutions, which went live on July 1 of this year.

Such a new system incorporates core freight management functionality, together with accounting, payroll, document management and track-and-trace capabilities.
